A diamond is resistant to damage by heat or scratching, but it can be chipped by a hard blow. To prevent chipping, you should select a protective ring setting. Also, exposure to cleaning solutions and soaps can cause buildup that dulls the surface. We suggest periodic cleanings to keep the diamond brilliant.
To clean diamond jewelry at home, we recommend a solution of one part ammonia and six parts water. Simply scrub with a soft clean toothbrush to loosen dirt and be careful not to scratch your setting's metal. We also recommend that you have your diamond and setting professionally cleaned and checked once a year.
To store diamond jewelry, wrap each piece individually in soft cloth to prevent the diamond from scratching or dulling other jewelry.
